Time targets let managers define daily time targets per weekday for groups of users. When a rule is assigned to a user, the weekly timesheet grid highlights daily totals in green (target met) or red (below target).
How it works
- Create a rule — go to Time targets from the dashboard. Click New rule, give it a name (e.g. “Full-time employees”), and set the daily target for each weekday by clicking the day tags. Use the 8h Mon-Fri preset for the common case.
- Assign users — click the users icon on a rule to open the assignments dialog. Add users with a start date and optional end date.
- View results — open the Time entries page in week view. Daily totals in the footer are colored green or red based on the assigned rule’s target for that day. Days with no rule stay neutral.
Managing rules
- Edit a rule’s name or daily targets with the pencil icon.
- Delete a rule with the trash icon (removes all user assignments).
- Rules are per-tenant and manager-only.
User assignments
- Each assignment has a start date and an optional end date (open-ended if omitted).
- A user can have multiple assignments to different rules over time, but date ranges must not overlap.
- To change a user’s rule (e.g. contract change from 40h to 35h), close the current assignment by setting an end date, then create a new assignment under the new rule starting the next day.
Common usage
- Employees log work tasks normally, plus “Out of office”, “Sick leave”, or “Parental leave” tasks to reach the daily target.
- The check counts all logged time regardless of task or classification.
- The check is purely informational — it never blocks time entry submission.
- Users not assigned to any rule show no color indicator.
